Director

From the magnificent opera houses and playhouses of Europe to New York showcases, my experience covers the gamut of theatrical endeavors, including extensive international tours, University guest artist projects , and resident directorships.

Creating living and affecting theatrical productions is my focus point from the moment of conception.  Vivid storytelling built on compelling human experience is what we seek in live theater and what I most enjoy trying to create.  Being an actor feeds my love of working with actors and bringing the best out of them.

What the critics have said:

“Director Eric Hoffmann has deftly handled this play, tending it carefully, as Laura does her animals, to make sure that even the smallest element sparkles.”

     Margaret Regan – The Express

“Boisterously, under Hoffmann’s direction, they transform this production into the uplifting, rough and rustic comedy that Shakespeare intended.”

Donald R. Wilson – Soho Weekly News

“The acting under Eric Hoffmann’s assured direction is top-notch. … no one who cares about theatre can afford not to pay attention to this masterly production.”

Addison De Witt — The State

“The American Drama Group Europe has made this play into an absolute masterpiece under the leadership of Eric Hoffmann.”
